Diamond Princess in Sydney Harbour

I wandered down to Circular Quay today at lunch, and look what I saw!

Diamond Princess comes to Sydney

My cousin said she sailed with her from LA to Hawaii last christmas when she was working as a youth leader. Oh the open seas! (Actually, I would probably be seasick, so I'll never do it)

Click on the photo above to see more photos of majestic Sydney harbour, and the ship (and there's even one of me!)

Dad's Birthday

I went to visit Mum and Dad on the weekend, because it was Dad's birthday. He's now officially old - he gets a pension!

Here's some photos taken at Gosford Yacht Club, where we had lunch on Saturday.

Haven't posted in a while..

I've been really busy... My Etsy store is taking up a fair bit of my time (I sold a quilt!!).

I've also got another quilt on consignment for Gaye (this one will be green).

I've started making coasters from beautiful Japanese fabrics.

I'm also still at Uni, and have an assignment due in a week, which looks at policies that might exclude people from education (i.e. racism, age, location etc). I'm looking at access to tertiary education for those that live in rural and remote areas of Australia. It's not looking good for those folks.

When I'm not sewing, I've been making trauma teddies for the Red Cross to give to kids that end up in hospital.

I start my new job on Monday, so I'm busy tidying up loose ends at Council.

Just wanted to let you know I wasn't dead, but just busy.

Churn Dash Quilt

Between study today, I quilted a quilt top that I had made a few months ago. I am listing it on my etsy store site, but I love the 1930's repo prints. I'll make another one once uni has finished if it sells.

Lawn

I finally got around to mowing my lawn today! It took almost all day and I had to go and buy extra fuel. I'm tire now and looking forward to some sleep! It was up to my knees before I started.

Check out my uni blog site if you are interested in Culture, Difference and Curriculum (my final subject for my master's course).

I've also added some of my creative outputs to my Etsy store (check out the link on the left of the page - or click here)

Enjoy!

New Bike

I bought a new bike yesterday! I'm planning on riding it to the gym and back when I go. Today it took me 45mins return, but I'm sure it will decrease as I get fitter.

I'm a bit saddle-sore, and I'm sure that my butt will get used to it over time.... (well I hope so anyway!)

Here's to getting fit more often..

Flooding, 2 Feb 2008, South Penrith

I went nuts with my camera this afternoon on my way home (made quite a few detours). My trip along the motorway was not fun, and this is what was happening at home.

Lots of my neighbours now have water views. My yard is a boggy mess, and I'm lucky that there is no water in my garage.

When I opened my front door, all the water that was sitting on the ledge went inside, so the carpet is a little on the wet side.

Click here to have a look at all the photos, and click on the photos for additional info, including where it was taken.

We need the rain, but I'm not sure we really need this much! At least I live close to our main dam, so they should be getting something too.

Australia Day Weekend

After some last minute changes is plans, Ems and I headed to the Watagan Mountains for the weekend. We did our usual 'arrive and pitch tent in the dark' scenario at 'The Basin' campground, and although the campsite was quite nice, the leeches weren't. We moved on the following day (via Cessnock) to find a different place.

We ended up at Hunter Lookout which looked over Cessnock and was really nice. We had a goanna that kept coming to see us.

Have a look at the photos here
